Our
Photo Rejuvenation treatments are one of the
most exciting procedures. Our techniques incorporate
the use of intense pulses of light to treat a
variety of skin conditions with minimal downtime.
This intense pulsed light can effectively treat
conditions like rosacea, facial flushing, sun
damage, brown spots, irregular skin pigmentation
and improve skin tone and texture for all skin
types.
How does it work?
Intense pulses of light is delivered to the skin
gently heating the upper layers of skin. The
heat is absorbed by the targeted blemishes
causing them to fade. The heat will also help
stimulate your skin cells to generate new collagen
making your skin vibrant and healthy.
What are the advantages of this treatment?
Intense pulsed light is a non invasive method
to treat a variety of conditions. Gradual improvements
will be seen after each treatment. Since there
is very little down time, patients can return
to normal activities almost immediately after
treatment.
Who are the best candidates for this treatment?
New technology has made it possible for most
skin types to get significant results.
What areas can be treated?
Almost any area of the body can be treated using
this technique. The most common areas include
the face, neck, chest and hands.
How do I prepare for the treatment?
A gentle cleanser is used prior to the treatment
to remove make-up and clean the face. Before
the treatment, a thin layer of gel is applied
to the skin to help guide the handpiece along
the skin. No other preparation is required.
What should I expect during the treatment?
During the treatment a series of pulses will
be delivered to the skin. A cooling device
will be used to help keep the skin cool and
provide additional comfort. The treatment generally
takes 10-30 minutes depending upon the area
being treated.
Does it hurt?
Many describe the feeling of the light pulses
as a snapping sensation. Most people tolerate
the treatment very well but varies from patient
to patient.
Is it safe?
Yes, however, as with any skin treatment there
is always risks to consider. Side effects are
rare and generally temporary. The specific
risks of this procedure for any given individual
can be determined at the time of the consultation.
Will more than one treatment be necessary?
For optimal results, the number of treatments
you require will depend upon the area you wish
to have treated. For maximum results, 3-5 treatments
are generally recommended 3-4 weeks apart.
What should I expect after treatment?
Immediately after your treatment, you will notice
some pinkness or redness in the treated area
which goes away after a few hours. If desired,
make-up can be applied immediately after the
treatment.
